Spring Morning Photoshoot: Final Edits

Our Warm Spring Photoshoot was a success! Beautiful weather, a great model, and a little bit of photo editing went a long way in creating these images. With the right knowledge, it doesn’t take much more than a smartphone and a subject to create beautiful images.

Spring Photoshoot Mood Board

Here is the step-by-step rundown of how we edited the photos post-production to match the mood board created earlier.

Photo 1: Sunrise Between the Leaves

  • For this photo, I started by decreasing contrast for less harsh shadows.
  • I increased brilliance to brighten the image.
  • I used selective color editing to brighten greens and desaturate oranges.
  • I increased vibrance to bring out the greens a little more.
  • I changed the white balance to make the image warmer.

Photo 2: Caught Looking

  • I cropped the bottom of the image a little to remove awkward foot placement.
  • I slightly increased both the brilliance and brightness to make the image lighter.
  • I added a vignette to remove brightness at the top-left corner and focus more on the subject.
  • I decreased vibrance and saturation for a softer, relaxed mood.
  • I change the cast for warmer colors.
  • I changed the white balance to also increase warmth.
  • I used selective color to make the browns a little greener.

Photo 3: Morning Mushrooms

  • I increased the cast and changed the white balance for a warmer image.
  • I decreased the vibrance and exposure to soften the colors and lighting.
  • I decreased the highlights and increased the shadows to even out the lighting.

Photo 4: Focus on the Trees

  • I decreased vibrance and saturation.
  • I used a warmer cast.
  • I changed the white balance for a warmer picture.
  • I used selective coloring to make the greens warmer.
  • I increased the contrast to bring out the highlights and shadows.

Photo 5: Riverside Contemplation

  • I increased the cast to make the image warmer.
  • I changed the white balance to make it warmer.
  • I used color selection to desaturate the blue jeans and make the greens more of a yellow hue.
  • I increased the brilliance for more light.
